Globe Staff Read Paper Quickly to Slow Readers

Hundreds of Globe editors and reporters delivered Sunday’s newspaper to subscribers because of problems with a distributor, but many of those papers arrived later in the day.
Because reporters and editors are fast readers, many of them read portions of Sunday’s paper, including advertising inserts and the Globe magazine, to slow readers and subscribers whose customary time to read the paper had passed.
In some cases, Globe staff read the paper to those whose comprehension skills were muddled by early afternoon alcohol-consumption in anticipation of the Patriots game with the Miami Dolphins, which was broadcast Sunday at 1 p.m.
Globe staffers who delivered papers after church services also offered secular interpretations of Sunday morning’s sermons and bites of tasty hash browns, which are now served at McDonald’s around the clock as part of the fast-food chain’s all-day breakfast menu.
